چکیده

The slow dynamics of topological solitons in the CP σ-model, known as lumps, can be approximated by the geodesic flow of the L metric on certain moduli spaces of holomorphic maps. In the present work, we consider the dynamics of lumps on an infinite flat cylinder, and we show that in this case the approximation can be formulated naturally in terms of regular Kähler metrics. We prove that these metrics are incomplete exactly in the multilump (interacting) case. The metric for two-lumps can be computed in closed form on certain totally geodesic submanifolds using elliptic integrals; particular geodesics are determined and discussed in terms of the dynamics of interacting lumps.

The non-linear relativistic 4-d field model of quantum particle originated by the internal dynamics in the phase space CP (N − 1) has been proposed. There is no distinction between 'particle' and its 'surrounding field', and the space-time manifold is derivable. The main idea is to base the theory on the relative amplitudes solely. The quantum measurements of the 'quantum particle field' is des...

The Study of Kinematics and Dynamics of Oscillating Laminar Flow About a Cylinder

In this paper, the oscillating two-dimensional laminar flow about a cylinder and the oscillation of a cylinder in still water are studied. A finite volume method is applied to solve the Navier Stokes equations using SIMPLEC algorithm on a body fitted co-located O-type grid. In this study, the non-dimensional flow numbers, Keulegan-Carpenter and Stokes’ numbers are chosen over a range where diff...

Topological Solitons and their Moduli Spaces

Description of the research: Topological solitons are smooth, localised, finite energy solutions in non-linear field theories. The soliton number is conserved due to a topological constraint, such as a winding number or a non-trivial Chern class. Originally motivated from physics, these solitons give rise to interesting mathematical objects which can be studied using differential geometry and a...

We analyze zero modes of the Dirac operator for SU(2) lattice gauge theory. We find that the zero modes are strongly localized in all 4 directions. The position of these lumps depends on the boundary conditions we use for the Dirac operator. We compare periodic boundary conditions and anti-periodic boundary conditions and find that the position of the zero modes jumps for about one third of the...
